Microsoft has added many features to the Edge browser, most notably the artificially intelligent Bing Chat. However, with a new version, it announced that it will no longer support some important features. With Microsoft Edge 117, which will be available to users on September 14, features such as Kids Mode and Math Solver will be removed.
Microsoft Edge 117 doesn’t support these features
Microsoft is working on a stable version 117 for Edge. This version, which will be available with a new update, will remove some popular features. The features that will lose support include Math Solver, Picture Dictionary, Quotes, Grammar Tools and Kids Mode.
Microsoft did not elaborate on why these features are being removed. However, it said that by removing these extra features, it would “improve the end-user experience and simplify the More Tools menu.” The company believes that many of these features have limited capabilities.
Edge 117 represents a major update for the Chromium-based browser. In addition to the features being removed, there will be some additions. Among the most important innovations is a business management suite called Edge for Business.
The business suite is intended to help Edge rival the Chrome user base and be more widely used on office PCs.
It’s worth noting that the features retired with Edge 117 will be kept in the browser for a while longer. However, Microsoft stated that these will eventually be completely removed. The company also said that since it is not actively working on these features, they may give errors.
